The Secretary of Security and Peace, through the State Coordination of Civil Protection, with the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) and the 46 Municipalities of Guanajuato, is reinforcing supervision and prevention in bodies of water, spas and centers of mass concentration during the Holy Week holiday period.

As part of these actions:
- A total of 582 sites with high traffic of people are monitored
- Mainly highlighting five municipalities:
- Leon (74)
- Guanajuato (33)
- Irapuato (30)
- San Miguel de Allende (25)
- Purisima del Rincon (25)

Luis Antonio Guereca Perez, State Coordinator of Civil Protection, explained that this operation is carried out in a coordinated manner, defining schedules and dates according to the needs of each locality.
“We conduct inspections of spas and entertainment centers. We review their civil protection program and check details such as: fire extinguishers charged and in good condition; spaces with smoke detectors; and we also inspect other food areas,” said the Coordinator.

The reviews not only focus on care tasks, but on a comprehensive prevention strategy that includes verifying safety, health and regulatory compliance conditions in establishments.
In the case of dams and bodies of water not designated for recreational activities, CONAGUA reiterated that swimming is strictly prohibited, as these are not spaces designed for this purpose.

Authorities urged citizens to avoid consuming alcoholic beverages in these areas and to follow safety recommendations, to prevent accidents and safeguard people’s well-being.
The Coordinator invites citizens and visitors to follow the recommendations of the authorities and to keep emergency numbers such as 911 and the anonymous hotline 089 readily available.
The Secretary of Security and Peace reaffirms its commitment to prevention, inter-institutional coordination, and the protection of citizens.
