Guanajuato Puerto Interior -GPI- hosted the first day of face-to-face activities of the 8th Seminar on Industry 4.0 and Technological Convergence, organized by the ENES Leon of UNAM, to connect the Guanajuato industry with the education sector.
The Seminar on Industry 4.0 and Technological Convergence, better known as SINCOTEC, has been held since 2014. The 8 seminars are part of 4 PAPIIT research projects carried out from 2014 to date, leading the project is the general coordinator Dr. Adriana Martinez Martinez.
The purpose of this eighth edition of Sincotec is to analyze the opportunities and challenges arising from three major challenges that are emerging in the 21st century:
- Mobility, hyper-connectivity and energy.
“I am frankly optimistic that this change is going to be for the better. But what is coming is like a big wave, with all this change. And when you are in front of the wave, you have two alternatives: either you get on the wave and take advantage of the energy of the wave just like a surfer to be able to go on better, further and with less effort; because the one who stands still, just watching the wave, the one who resists or thinks of resisting the wave, the only thing that will happen to them is that they will end up severely mistreated by the force of this change”, said Héctor Lopez Santillana, the General Director of Puerto Interior in his inaugural message.
“So, for us, there is no other choice but, as a team, build surfboards that are available for everyone, surfboards in which everyone gets involved, surfboards in which we facilitate so that all Mexicans ride the wave in a timely manner and use all this energy for the benefit of our community and our society”, said Santillana.
At the end of activities of this seminar at GPI, there was an editorial presentation of the book“Opportunities and Challenges for the adoption of industry 4.0 in Mexico”, it was coordinated by Adriana Martinez, Maria Josefa Santos Corral and Rebeca de Gortari Rabiela.
