Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo talked to Nestlé Officials in Geneva and secured 160 million dollars
The company will expand its operations to produce foods in Guanajuato

Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo had a reunion with Nestlé Directors where both parties talked about the plans of Nestlé to increase its operations in Guanajuato.
Increasing operations
The company announced an investment for 160 million dollars in October 2020 for the production plant it operates in Puerto Interior in Silao, Guanajuato.
That investment represents more than 200 direct jobs and more than 1,700 indirect jobs, besides it will let this company increase its production from 214,285 thousand tons of dry food, as well as 12 thousand to 25 thousand tons of humid food.
Economic reactivation
“That is good news, because it also confirms the start of economic reactivation in our State with investment by a company as important as Nestlé”, said the Governor.
“We are working to go on creating better conditions of employmeny for Guanajuatenses and we will continue with this tour which will be of great benefit for Guanajuatenses”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
Trust in Guanajuato
The Governor said that talks with Nestlé Directors goes on to attract more investment to Guanajuato in the near future as well as other initiatives, which shows the trust the swiss company has in Guanajuato.
Nestlé came to Mexico in 1930 and today it has more than 90,000 Mexican suppliers of products like corn, wheat, milk, cocoa, coffee, fruit, vegetables, among other products in 25 States of Mexico.
Committed with Mexican talent
The announced investment will create new jobs to operate the new processing lines, since Nestlé is committed to promote Mexican talent in municipalities like Silao, Irapuato, Romita, Leon, Celaya, Cortazar, Salamanca, San Luis de la Paz and the State Capital.
