Aiming to create a vibrant space for entertainment and community gathering across all generations, the Municipal Government of Purisima del Rincon, through its Direction of Tourism, officially presented the 13th edition of Noches Magicas 2026. The event will be held on Saturday, November 7, at the San Andres Sports Complex in the Pueblo Magico of Jalpa de Canovas.
Far more than a hot air balloon show, Noches Magicas has evolved into a premier regional festival where families gather to enjoy an afternoon and evening packed with activities, share local flavors, experience live performances, and create lasting memories in a safe, wholesome atmosphere.
Mayor Roberto Garcia Urbano noted that the event has established itself as an accessible alternative to the International Balloon Festival in Leon, particularly for local families seeking a high-quality experience closer to home.
The mayor emphasized that a core mission of Noches Magicas is to bring world-class aerostatic displays to the residents of Purisima del Rincon, neighboring municipalities, and nearby communities in a serene, affordable, and family-oriented setting.
Beyond the balloon displays, the festival incorporates a comprehensive lineup of culinary showcases, mechanical rides, live musical acts, and interactive entertainment areas.
Garcia Urbano reaffirmed the festival’s strict zero-alcohol policy, a key feature designed to ensure a peaceful atmosphere for children, young adults, parents, and seniors alike.
This year’s edition introduces a space-themed concept, introducing immersive exhibits and interactive activities to complement the traditional balloon launch.
The main spectacle will feature four hot air balloons, two custom-shaped designs alongside two traditional models, serving as the centerpiece of the evening.
In a new partnership, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of the State of Guanajuato (SECTURI) will deploy its Tourism Caravan, featuring a specialized geodesic dome hosting interactive workshops from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Attendees will also enjoy telescopes, space-themed installations, carnival rides, artisanal craft markets, and redesigned activity zones engineered for optimal visitor mobility.
Beyond its recreational value, Noches Magicas serves as a major economic catalyst for the municipality and surrounding rural communities.
Merchant participation continues its steady upward trajectory, growing from 59 vendor partners in 2023 to 77 confirmed participants for 2026.
Under the administration’s policy to empower local commerce, 80 percent of vendor spaces have been reserved for businesses from Purisima del Rincon, with 10 percent allocated to regional vendors and 10 percent to state-level participants, prioritizing local families and entrepreneurs.
Gastronomy stands out as a focal point of the festival, featuring traditional local cooks, regional vendors, and guest international culinary offer from Venezuela, Argentina, Egypt, El Salvador, and Colombia.
Official proceedings begin at 4:00 PM with a showcase of local artistic talent.
The main hot air balloon display will light up the grounds from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, marking the highlight of the night.
Reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability, Noches Magicas will implement a zero-plastic protocol, promoting eco-responsible practices and requiring vendors to use biodegradable materials such as cardboard and wood.
The event features an inclusive purpose developed in coordination with the Municipal DIF System, ensuring tailored accessibility and dedicated assistance for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
To guarantee public safety and seamless operational flow, a comprehensive security apparatus will be deployed, uniting Public Safety, Municipal Transit, Civil Protection, Inspection, Municipal Services, Public Health, and Cultural departments.
To facilitate an easier departure for attendees, municipal shuttle services will run continuously at the conclusion of the event, transporting visitors from the venue back to downtown Purisima del Rincon.
Noches Magicas also provides an ideal opportunity to explore the broader attractions of Jalpa de Canovas, an internationally recognized Pueblo Magico named a Best Tourism Village- alongside the regional tourist corridor spanning Purisima de Bustos, Canada de Negros, and Jalpa de Canovas.
