With training, opportunities get closer to young Guanajuatenses

Jovenes con Rumbo supports young people so they can continue their studies, learn a trade, and build their future

176 young Guanajuatenses received a technical certification from IECA and YouthBuild in four specialties

With their families, 176 young people completed a stage of Jovenes con Rumbo and received a technical certification from the State Institute of Training (IECA) in Welding, CNC, Footwear Technology and Residential Electricity.

The result was made possible thanks to the joint work of YouthBuild Guanajuato and IECA, which provide young people with the opportunity to continue their studies, learn a trade and have new tools to find a job or start their own business.

Representing the general director of IECA, Salomón Ceballos Ochoa, was Yinet Rizo, Director of Operations , who was with the young during the ceremony.

In a message addressed to this fifth generation, Salomon Ceballos Ochoa acknowledged their effort and highlighted the importance of their being able to combine their studies with learning a trade.

“I want to congratulate the 176 young people who are completing this fifth generation and who are receiving technical certification from IECA in Welding, CNC, Footwear Technology, and Residential Electricity. I also want to thank Director Genoveva de Anda, Director of YouthBuild, and Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, for making it possible for this program to continue growing, so that we can reach more and more young people and they can have their life plan, complete their high school education, and acquire mastery of a trade that allows them to continue growing and developing personally and professionally to achieve their dreams,” said Ceballos.

Genoveva de Anda, director of YouthBuild in Guanajuato, thanked the IECA staff who participated in the training of the young people and acknowledged the support provided to meet their training needs.

This collaboration is part of the Guanajuato SUMA vision, A New Direction for Our People, which recognizes training as a tool to open opportunities and improve the living conditions of families.

During the event, Paulina Sanchez Guadarrama Villareal, national director of YouthBuild Mexico, thanked IECA for its support: “They have always extended a helping hand so that you can have more and better training opportunities. So, wherever you are, Salomon, thank you for your friendship and your support.”

For Jesus Angel Roque Gonzalez, a beneficiary of the program, what he learned will be a tool to face the challenges ahead, “I know there will be challenges, I know the road won’t be easy. There will be days when we doubt ourselves, when we feel we can’t, but we will always remember what we learned from Jovenes con Rumbo, and that yes, it is possible.”
