Uriangato is preparing to welcome everyone with all its identity from October 2nd to 7th at the 11th International Meeting of Carpet Makers will take place and from October 3rd to 6th the 6th International Festival of Cantoya Balloons

This October, Uriangato will be awash in color, both in the sky and on the ground. The streets will be transformed into canvases of ephemeral art, and the sky will be filled with balloons during two celebrations that combine identity, tradition, creativity, and tourism:
- The 11th International Carpet Makers’ Meeting, from October 2 to 7
- The 6th Catoya International Balloon Festival, from October 3 to 5
For the People’s Government, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, promoting the traditions and cultural expressions of the 46 municipalities is part of a tourism vision that recognizes identity as an opportunity to create experiences, attract visitors, and strengthen the local economy.
Through the Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), and in accordance with the Guanajuato SUMA strategy, tourism is being promoted to reach more regions and offer new reasons to travel in the communities, their traditions, and their people.
During these days on the ground, the hands of the carpet makers will bring to life multicolored designs with sawdust, seeds, flowers, and other materials; while in the sky, balloons will fill the Uriangato landscape with shapes and colors.
The 11th International Carpet Makers’ Reunion reaffirms Uriangato’s reputation as a leading center for ephemeral art. Each carpet is born from collective work and a tradition passed down through generations.
Adding to this experience is the 6th International Cantoya Balloon Festival, which will take color to new heights and offer a spectacle that allows visitors to enjoy the place from a different perspective, with a celebration that brings together families, visitors, and participants around the balloons.
These two events also represent an opportunity for visitors to learn about the gastronomy, products, services and cultural treasures of Uriangato, generating activity for commerce and people that are part of the tourism value chain.
