To enable more entrepreneurs to receive training, learn to better organize their small businesses, and discover their full human potential, Financiera y Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato held the Initial Entrepreneur Workshop in San Luis de la Paz.
Ivon Padilla Hernandez, General Director, pointed out that one of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo’s priorities is to be close to the people to witness the results that do come in this government that solves problems with more work in the field and less desk work.
“We’ve met people who know perfectly well how to make their product or provide a service, but no one taught them how to manage their accounts or price their work. We can’t ask them to grow if we don’t first give them the tools. That’s why we’re here with this workshop: to learn from the reality of their own businesses,” said Padilla.
Ivon explained that the Initial Workshop is part of the “We Believe in You” program, which the Financiera y Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato has so that more people, mainly women aged 18 to 59 and young people aged 18 to 30 who want to start a productive activity or strengthen a microbusiness, can participate.
Remedios Briones Vargas, known to her family and friends as “Mellos,” is 50 years old and has been building a business in Puerto Blanco for over a decade, combining food, bread, and pastry making. On weekends she prepares set meals, and during the week she makes bread, cakes, and desserts, in addition to catering for events.
Upon learning about the call for applications for the Initial Entrepreneur Workshop in her municipality, she didn’t miss the opportunity and registered.
Participating in the training confirmed her interest in further strengthening her business: “I found this workshop very helpful. They give us a lot of encouragement and tell us how to use resources to improve our business. I am definitely interested.”
“I need to buy tables, chairs, and more pots and pans to improve my business,” she explained.
In the workshop, the participants took advantage of the training to review important aspects of administration, costs, customer service, calculating their profits and organizing their projects.
The Financiera y Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato program reaches all municipalities so that opportunities for advancement, training, and guidance are within reach of those who work every day to bring forward an idea, a trade, a family, or a small business.
