Less than two years after taking office, the current State Administration has attracted the largest amount of Mexican investment since 2006
The arrival and expansion of more Mexican projects is expected, thanks to Guanajuato Suma, the State’s New Economic Policy

Mexican capital has become the leading investor in Guanajuato. During the current administration of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, investment projects from Mexico have risen from second to first place.
This reflects the confidence that national business owners have in our State as an investment destination; furthermore, it is the result of the work led by the State Governor and her strategy focused on facilitating the arrival of new companies and the creation of jobs as a top priority.
Investment during the current State Administration:
- 28 Mexican investment projects
- For an amount exceeding 2 billion 021 million dollars
- It is the 32.54% of the total invested by Mexico in Guanajuato since 2006
- Mexican companies have created 6,560 new jobs in Guanajuato
- From 2006 to the present, national sourced investments have totaled more than $6.213 billion
- With 233 projects
The head of the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, acknowledged the support that Mexican investors have given to Guanajuato with their decision to operate in some municipality or the expansion of their economic units and plants in the State.
Furthermore, Villasenor expressed her trust that these projects will continue to grow and expand, because thanks to Guanajuato Suma, the State’s New Economic Policy, the State has been prepared to compete in the economy of the future with a strategy based on innovation, talent, infrastructure, energy, sustainability, and investment.
