49 women from 34 companies in Guanajuato participated in a training program to strengthen their leadership and build international growth strategies

With tools to make better decisions, strengthen their businesses and prepare to compete in new markets, 49 women entrepreneurs from Guanajuato finished their participation in the “Strategic Management for Leadership” program, promoted by the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE).
This initiative is part of the People’s Government’s actions to support those who start businesses, create jobs, and seek to grow their companies, strengthening their management skills and their vision for internationalization.
Through five virtual sessions, 49 businesswomen of 34 Guanajuatense companies participated, working on topics of leadership, business diagnosis, building internationalization routes, negotiation and strategic planning.
The program was attended by businesswomen from municipalities such as Leon, San Francisco del Rincon, Celaya, Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Silao and Valle de Santiago, among other places in the State.
The participants mainly represent micro and small businesses from sectors such as fashion, agro-food, industries and services, reflecting the diversity of female entrepreneurial talent in Guanajuato and their interest in finding new business opportunities within and outside of Mexico.
The training was structured in five modules:
- The CEO within you
- The X-ray of your company in the world
- Design your route to the world
- Negotiate as an Executive, not as a Salesperson
- Your International Strategic Plan
More than just training, the program allowed participants to analyze where their companies stand, identify growth opportunities, and develop tools to more confidently make decisions related to expansion and international markets.
In addition, a community of Guanajuatense businesswomen was created whom are interested in maintaining connections, sharing experiences, and generating new business relationships. The participants expressed interest in continuing this process through a face-to-face networking meeting.
This strategy aligns with Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo’s vision of creating more opportunities for people, strengthening MSMEs, and supporting those who generate employment and economic development in Guanajuato every day.
The People’s Government, through COFOCE, promotes conditions for more women to lead more competitive companies, find new business opportunities, and take Guanajuato’s talent and products to new markets.
