The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the ceremony for the delivery of 38,190 packages of school supplies and backpacks that was held at the Enrique Colunga Elementary School.

“The best thing Guanajuato has is its children, so it’s a pleasure to be here, handing out these school supplies and backpacks,” said Libia Dennise.

In this Region V of the Secretary of Education, which includes Celaya along with the municipalities of Apaseo el Alto, Apaseo el Grande, Comonfort, Cortazar, Juventino Rosas, Tarimoro, and Villagran, more than 93,000 school supply kits and backpacks will be distributed in total.
And at the state level, said the Governor, more than 581,000 complete school supply kits will be distributed to public elementary school students. “All these supplies are ffor students to arrive at school with everything they need to learn,” said Libia.

We know the effort parents make to stretch their money and cover back-to-school expenses. Therefore, this distribution of school supplies is a way to help their finances, said the Governor.
Libia said that in Guanajuato there is a strong commitment to education, because we want girls and boys to be in the classrooms, but also to have everything they need to study.

The Governor announced that a fence and the continuation of the roofing at Enrique Colunga Elementary School will be built using State and municipal funds. “Because we love our children very much, we are working to ensure they have the best conditions for their studies, and I encourage them to continue their education,” she emphasized.

The ceremony was attended by the mayor of Celaya, Juan Miguel Ramirez Sanchez, and the State Secretary of Education, Luis Ignacio Sanchez Gomez, who emphasized that this statewide launch of the distribution of school supplies and backpacks demonstrates the great value that the People’s Government places on education.
