Guanajuato continues to demonstrate resilience and growth potential. This is confirmed by the results of the Quarterly Indicator of State Economic Activity (ITAEE), published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), within the context of collaborative work between the productive sectors and the actions promoted by the People’s Government, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, to strengthen the State’s economic development.

The ITAEE results show that, when comparing the first quarter of 2026 with the same period in 2025, Guanajuato’s economic activity grew 1.3%, above the national average, positioning the State in 12th place among the 32 federal entities.

This performance was driven mainly by the primary sector, which achieved an annual growth of 31.5%, the second highest in the country, reflecting the dynamism and strength of the Guanajuatense agricultural sector.

Meanwhile, the tertiary sector, made up of commerce and services, showed an annual growth of 0.3%, maintaining a positive performance and contributing to the overall results of the State economy.

Guanajuato maintains a solid and diversified economy, where the dynamism of the primary sector compensated for the moderation observed in industry, allowing the State to close the quarter with positive growth and above the national average.

The Secretary of Economy, led by Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, reaffirmed its commitment to continue strengthening the competitiveness of Guanajuato through public policies that promote investment attraction, supplier development, the growth of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the generation of quality jobs.

The People’s Government informed that they continue working to consolidate a more competitive, inclusive economy with greater opportunities for Guanajuatense families, strengthening strategic sectors and creating the conditions for economic development to translate into prosperity for all.
