Guanajuato/Gto News
In order to strengthen tourism competitiveness, promote regional integration, and consolidate new experiences for national and international visitors, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of the People’s Government carried out a series of workshops to socialize initiatives for conceptual tourist routes in different regions of Guanajuato.

Through the Undersecretary of Identity and Tourism Development, and the General Direction of Tourism Competitiveness and the Direction of Tourism Product Innovation, these spaces for dialogue and participation were developed, which allowed the presentation to tourism actors of the results of the research work, territorial analysis, inventory surveys, market studies and conceptualization processes that gave rise to new proposals for tourist routes for Guanajuato.

These actions are part of the State strategy for the design and consolidation of innovative tourism products that strengthen the identity of the municipalities, promote collaboration among the members of the value chain and generate new opportunities for economic development for the communities.

The workshops aimed to share each of the conceptual routes developed, as well as to foster the exchange of ideas among tourism service providers, municipal authorities, and representatives from various sectors linked to tourism. They also allowed for the identification of opportunities to enrich the proposals through the active participation of those who know and experience the cultural, historical, gastronomic, and natural richness of each region on a daily basis.
During the working sessions, fundamental topics for the consolidation of new tourism products were addressed, including the socialization of routes by region, the management of portfolios of experiences and tourism products, the design of itineraries, tourist hosting and the strengthening of the chain and articulation of service providers.

As a demonstration and follow-up to the actions of this strategy on June 10th, the “Untamed Roots Mezcal Route” was presented to the public , with the participation of 28 tourism service providers from San Luis de la Paz, San José Iturbide, Tierra Blanca, and Victoria.

The construction of new tourist routes represents an opportunity to showcase the cultural, historical, gastronomic, artisanal and natural richness of Guanajuato, strengthening the sense of belonging of the communities and positioning the State as a diverse, authentic and competitive destination at the national and international level.
