Given the forecast of increased temperatures in different regions of Mexico, the Secretary of Security and Peace, through the State Coordination of Civil Protection, invites the population of Guanajuato to take preventive measures to protect your health.

According to information from the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) and the National Meteorological Service:
- Temperatures are expected to reach 40 to 45 °C in some areas of Mexico, including the State of Guanajuato
- Wind gusts of 30 to 50 km/h are also forecast for the State, without dust storms

In Guanajuato, the northeastern municipalities could reach these heat levels, such as:
- Atarjea, Doctor Mora, San Jose Iturbide, San Luis de la Paz, Santa Catarina, Tierra Blanca, Victoria and Xichu

The Secretary of Security and Peace recommends taking precautions during this heat wave, such as:
- Avoid sun exposure between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Consume fresh foods, like fruits and vegetables
- Drink plenty of water even if you are not thirsty
- Avoid alcoholic beverages
- Protect yourself from the sun, wear a cap or hat
- Apply sunscreen with a minimum of 15 SPF (Sun Protection Factor)
- Wear light-colored clothing, avoid dark clothing
- Remember that swimming in dams, rivers, streams and bodies of water is prohibited
