Authorities urge caution and family supervision from March 26 to April 12; 162 elements have been deployed for the Holy Week and Easter vacation

Local authorities have officially activated the San Cristobal 2026 Operation, a comprehensive security and prevention strategy running from March 26 to April 12. The initiative issues a firm call to citizens: prioritize family safety, maintain strict supervision of minors, and provide dedicated care for the elderly to prevent avoidable tragedies.
During the kick-off ceremony, Mayor of Purisima del Rincon, Roberto Garcia Urbano emphasized that more than 162 elements will be working in rotating shifts, 24/7, to safeguard the physical integrity of residents and visitors alike.
Strategic Deployment and Emergency Protocols.
The operation integrates key agencies, including Public Security, Municipal Transit, the National Emergency Commission (CNE), Civil Protection, and the Fire Department.
Key features of the safety operation include:
- Command Center: Civil Protection will establish a specialized command post for Good Friday, coordinated through the C4 center, covering the central, northern, and southern sectors of the municipality
- State Support: State Civil Protection will provide reinforcements from Wednesday to Friday, specifically monitoring the “La Judea” traditions, as well as local water parks and natural bodies of water
- Recreational Surveillance: Special patrols will be active across 18 sites, including water parks, picnic areas (palapas), dams, and reservoirs

Authorities reiterate that the 911 emergency line is the only official channel for assistance. For security protocols to be activated, citizens must avoid calling local stations directly and use the centralized emergency system.
To assist travelers, a fleet of 28 units will be in service. This includes a dedicated tow truck for mechanical failures and Municipal Transit support equipped with hydraulic jacks, air compressors, and battery jump-starters to assist families in transit.
To help corps keep these holidays safe, only use 911 for legitimate emergencies to ensure a rapid response from first responders.
