In Guanajuato, the marketing of corn is supported with direct subsidies of 150 pesos per ton, benefiting thousands of producers in the State

With the commitment to strengthen the economic autonomy of rural women and support the development of the Guanajuatense agriculture sector, the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the delivery of productive equipment and economic support to rural women, who with their work sustain their families and contribute to the growth of their communities.
During the event held in Irrigation District 011, the State Governor recognized the effort and determination of rural women, whom she described as an example of hard work and resilience.
“I am very proud to be governor of such hardworking, go-getting women who pave the way for their families every day. We will not leave them alone; we will continue walking together so that their projects grow and become opportunities for well-being,” said the Governor.
In the context of International Women’s Day, productive tools were delivered such as:
- Cisterns, corn shellers, grills, bakery modules and nixtamal mills, which will allow the beneficiaries to transform their products and generate higher incomes from their communities.
This initiative is part of the My Productive Family program, which aims to strengthen food safety and economic development at the local level. Seventy-two women producers were benefited with an investment of 790,600 pesos, bolstering their productive capacity and family finances.
In addition, the People’s Government continues to support the agricultural sector through aid for the marketing of corn, with an incentive of 150 pesos per ton, a strategy that has already supported more than 406,000 tons, benefiting thousands of producers in Guanajuato.
“The development of Guanajuato cannot be understood without the active and decisive participation of women. You are administrators, strategists, and leaders who face challenges every day and who, with your work, keep your families and our communities afloat,” said the Mayor of Irapuato, Lorena Alfaro Garcia.
“Women in the agricultural sector are a fundamental pillar of the economy for families in Guanajuato. That is why we continue working to support them with resources and training that will allow them to generate income and strengthen their productive projects,” said the Secretary of Agriculture, Marisol Suarez Correa.
“Thank you for believing in the efforts of rural women and for opening paths of opportunity. Your support inspires us to move forward with trust and hope to improve our communities,” said the President of the Committee of Agricultural Women, Ana Luisa Ramirez.
“I’ve learned to value myself and to grow. This support isn’t for keeping to ourselves; it’s for working and getting ahead for our families. Today we have tools and opportunities that allow us to keep fighting for a better future,” said on behalf of the beneficiaries, Antonia Contreras, a farmer.
