As a result of the State security strategy CONFIA (Operational Coordination of the New Anti-Crime Intelligence Force), Guanajuato once again registered a historic monthly figure, closing October with the lowest number of intentional homicides in the last eight years.
Thanks to the leadership of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo and the joint work of the Secretary of Security and Peace with State, Federal and Municipal institutions, as well as citizen participation, a sustained downward trend in this high-impact crime is being consolidated.
During October 2025, 145 victims of intentional homicide were recorded, according to preliminary data from the National Security Council. This figure is the lowest recorded so far this year (surpassing September, which ended with 150) and ranks as the month with the fewest cases since 2017.
This trend is reflected in the daily average of victims. October ended with 4.68 homicides per day, continuing the gradual decline of recent months. This figure represents a preliminary 50.2% reduction in the daily average compared to September 2024, when 9.4 homicides were recorded daily.
The Secretary of Security and Peace clarifies that these are preliminary figures from the National Security Council. Official data will be confirmed and published soon by the Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).
This result reflects a security approach based on intelligence, research, regionalized presence and combating criminal economies, under the CONFIA strategy.
The Guanajuato State Secretary of Security and Peace reiterates that citizen collaboration is essential to consolidate this trend.
