During the Assembly of Secretaries of Tourism in Zacatecas progress reports, tourism diagnoses, and the sector’s vision for 2050 were presented

With the participation of 17 State representatives, the 63rd Assembly of the Association of Tourism Secretaries of Mexico (ASETUR) was held, a space in which the main challenges and opportunities to strengthen tourism activity in the country were addressed.
The Secretary of Tourism and Identity of the Government of the State of Guanajuato, headed by Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon, was in this meeting to closely monitor the activities and the organization, reaffirming the commitment of the People’s Government to the development of local and national activity to generate better opportunities for the tourism value chain.
“As the governor requested, we are promoting the State to become part of this major national tourism plan that we are organizing among the Secretaries, with a clear focus on ensuring that our communities also benefit from the benefits of tourism, as well as promoting the 46 municipalities that boast wonderful landscapes and routes,” explained Secretary Lupita Robles.
During the Assembly, progress reports, tourism assessments, and the sector’s vision for 2050 were presented, as well as the importance of decentralizing tourism to highlight and promote the natural, cultural, and community beauty of each State.
It was highlighted that tourism represents 14% of the national GDP, consolidating its position as one of the country’s most important activities.
“We trust that these partnerships will help us generate more tourism so that all members of this tourism value chain of Guanajuato will benefit, a region that is known for its warmth and hospitality,” Lupita explained.
The meeting also defined the next venues for the ASETUR Assemblies:
- Puebla on September 26
- San Luis Potosi on October 28
- Hidalgo on November 15
International projects were also shared, such as participation in FITUR 2026 in Spain, where the country is a special guest besides the Ports of Mexico Seatrade 2026 project.
