“We have worked hard to deliver results for the people of Guanajuato, and I can assure you that there has been a sustained decrease in intentional homicides of 47.9 percent since our last meeting (March 25) to this day,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, during the Security Reunion for Peacebuilding.

Present at this meeting were Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, Secretary of National Defense, and Omar Garcia Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, who recognized the results of the coordination and intelligence strategy in building peace in Guanajuato.

“There was clear recognition of the work we are doing in Guanajuato. This motivates us to continue working with commitment to deliver results for our people,” said Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.
“Continue on this path, you’re definitely doing very well; the result is the product of everyone’s work and effort,” said Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, Secretary of National Defense.

As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to strengthen the intelligence actions and continue coordinated operations of the State and the Federation, as well as strengthen lines of investigation that will lead to the arrest of perpetrators of violence.
Regarding the crime of extortion, the Governor said, “We have asked federal authorities for their full cooperation, because many of these extortion calls do not originate here in Guanajuato. This commitment will allow us to work decisively against this crime that so affects Guanajuatense families.”

“We reaffirm our commitment to continue working as a team, because security is something we all build. We will continue achieving results with this CONFIA strategy and working hard to restore peace for our families,” said the Governor of Guanajuato.
