SAPICA makes of Guanajuato epicenter of fashion and manufacturing

The Guanajuato Fashion Cluster boosts the economy of Guanajuato, representing 7.6% of the GDP and generating more than 150,000 jobs that transform lives

Guanajuato continues to shine as a national benchmark in the fashion and manufacturing industry. With leadership in footwear production and a prominent presence in strategic sectors such as textile and clothing, the State is consolidating a true ecosystem of prosperity for thousands of Guanajuatense families”, said the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar.

The Secretary led the presentation of the 92nd edition of SAPICA, the most important fair in Latin America for the footwear and leather industry, “SAPICA is not only a showcase for talent and innovation, it is also a space where dreams, opportunities and growth are built for our people,” she said.

The Guanajuato Fashion Cluster, which integrates the leather, footwear, supply and textile-clothing sectors, is a key engine for the State economy. Comprised of more than 19,500 economic units, of which more than 6,000 are directly dedicated to the production of footwear and leather goods, this sector generates more than 150,000 jobs, positively impacting the well-being of thousands of families.

“Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are the heart of our economy. From the Government of the People, we work hand in hand with society to strengthen these ecosystems of prosperity, ensuring that opportunities reach every corner of the State,” said the Secretary of Economy.

This event reaffirms the commitment of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo to promote growth and innovation in our local industries, ensuring better conditions for the development of our people.

SAPICA is much more than a fair, it is a platform where the Guanajuatense talent shines and is projected to the world. Through innovative strategies, the event strengthens entrepreneurs and businessmen in the sector, opening doors to new markets and business opportunities.

One of the most notable spaces of this edition is the Pavilion of Developing Companies, designed to promote MSMEs with high growth potential, providing key tools to strengthen their competitiveness and consolidate their presence in the industry.

SAPICA Learning offers specialized training to entrepreneurs and designers, providing valuable insights into fashion trends, marketing strategies and digital innovation.

To continue attracting national and international buyers, the SAPICA Loyalty Program was implemented, a strategic initiative that positions the fair as the most important commercial platform in Latin America.

The Government of the People recognizes the leadership and work of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Guanajuato (CICEG) in the consolidation of SAPICA as the great showcase of Mexican footwear.

The Secretary of Economy called on the sector to move towards greater formality and competitiveness: “It is time to commit to formality and build a stronger industry, with equal opportunities for all,” she said.
