With a generation capacity of 12,564 GWh and a consumption of 11,870 GWh, Guanajuato has an energy surplus as it produces 694 GWh more than it consumes.
The instruction of the Governor, Libia Denisse Garcia Munoz Ledo, is to ensure the continuity of the electricity supply for the industry and homes of the people of Guanajuato and to position Guanajuato as a model of self-sufficiency and energy reliability in Mexico.
The head of the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, said that Guanajuato does not suffer from a lack of energy generation and reaffirmed her commitment to continue working to improve the infrastructure of electrical transmission and transformation.
Villasenor said that by being interconnected with the national grid, Guanajuato guarantees a continuous supply that responds to both the demands of industry and the needs of households.
