In the Government of the People we want girls, boys and young people in schools, said the Governor of the State, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, referring to the school reintegration days “Open the Door to the Future”, with which it is intended to reach more than 45 thousand girls and boys in the process of school reintegration.

“When we say that our children are the most important thing, it means that we have to go where they are, that is why we are going door to door with those children who for some reason had to leave school behind; we want them in schools to help them fulfill their dreams,” said the Governor during the Connecting with the People broadcast.

These sessions consist of searching for students who have dropped out of school, right in their doorsteps.

Libia Dennise said that each case will be followed up, with specific support to improve the family environment and facilitate the return of students.

In this edition of Connecting with the People, Luis Ignacio Sánchez Gómez, head of the Guanajuato Education Secretary, was present and explained that in Guanajuato:

  • 76,064 students left the classrooms from January 2022 to August 2024
  • In this period 58,838 students were reinstated
  • They were located or identified in other states
  • Including some who never left their studies but had problems with their CURP and the SEG had them duplicated within the school control system

Currently in Guanajuato there are 45,633 students in the process of school reintegration, of whom there is information to locate them and seek for their return to the classrooms.

Last week, Governor Libia Dennise led these school reintegration sessions ‘Open the Door to the Future’, in the Ladrilleras del Refugio neighborhood, located in the municipality of Leon, where she knocked on doors accompanied by SEG staff and scouts. Staff from JuventuEsGTO and the State DIF also participate in this program.

“We will continue knocking on doors and providing timely follow-up to encourage the return of children to school. A child who leaves school is unlikely to return on his own, so today what we are doing throughout the State and with the entire SEG team is walking the streets and we will be following up on each case, because each reality is different,” explained Libia.

Finally, the Governor invited mothers and fathers in this situation to contact the staff of the Guanajuato Education Secretary through social media and the 800 FUTUROS hotline (388 87 67).

“Today I say to mothers and fathers, this is the time to raise your hand. We want our children in school and we will continue working with love and dedication to make life better for the families of Guanajuato,” said Libia.
