“We want no one to be left without studying, all the girls and boys in our State should go to school and achieve their dreams”, said the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, when formally starting the new school cycle 2023 – 2024 for Basic Education in Guanajuato.
Back to school are:
- 1,220,024 students began clases
- 232,057 in preschool
- 675,804 in primary school
- 312,163 in secondary school
- 55,471 teachers at three levels
- In 10,337 schools
“We also want mothers and fathers to feel the support of the Government of Guanajuato in their pockets. Let them know that they are not alone, that they have the State Government”, said the Governor.
In Guanajuato, 614,495 packages of school supplies and backpacks will be delivered to public elementary school students, announced Governor Rodriguez Vallejo accompanied by Jorge Enrique Hernandez Meza, Secretary of Public Education of Guanajuato.
The State investment is:
- 135.8 million pesos in kits of supplies
- 107.6 million pesos in backpacks
- 23.5 million pesos in booklets
In September, 987,520 printed support materials per grade will be delivered to primary and secondary public school students, which will also be available digitally for consultation.
In October, 292 thousand 375 packages of School Sports Sets is planned, made up of pants, shorts, a t-shirt and a jacket for public high schools will be delivered.
In Regional Delegation 4, the State Government will deliver 164 thousand 308 kits of backpacks and school supplies, distributed as follows:
- Irapuato, 60 thousand 825
- Guanajuato, 20 thousand 499
- Romita, 8 thousand 478
- Salamanca, 26,219
- Silao, 24 thousand 545
- Purisima del Rincon, 9 thousand 636
- San Francisco del Rincon, 14 thousand 106
In the current administration, the State Government implements the “Social Pact for Education” which, through the Secretary of Education, strategic alliances are signed with international institutions such as UNESCO and the World Bank, as well as with civil society and the business sector.
Its objective, it was informed, is to reduce school dropout, address the educational gap and strengthen the family nucleus through collaborative work with the State DIF on positive parenting.
In 2023, the State Government invested more than 1 billion pesos in school infrastructure and equipment and 46.5 million pesos were allocated to school furniture benefiting 900 schools and 25.7 million pesos in minor maintenance in 158 schools.
