Libia works on connecting with people

The Governor of Guanajuato interacted with the people of Guanajuato who expressed their comments and concerns about this New Beginning

A close connection is the hallmark of the Government of the People, as demonstrated by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo as she interacted with Guanajuatenses through a live broadcast.

“-Conectando con la gente- will be a space for communication to share the most important issues to be addressed in this State Administration. There cannot be a Government of the People without communication with the people for whom we work every day”, said Libia Dennise.

Connecting with People included the participation of Itzel Balderas, General Director of the Institute for Guanajuatense Women, who explained, among other topics, the progress of the strategic action plan to address the Gender Violence Against Women Alert.

As this is the first government headed by a woman, there must be a change in public policies with a gender perspective, said the Governor.

“It is a challenge that we face in this Administration to prevent violence against women. This Government decided from the first day to accept the declaration and see it as a great opportunity to make more visible the violence that women experience and address it from the highest level with public policies that allow us to eradicate this type of violence,” said the Governor.

The State Powers participate in the working groups; autonomous organizations such as the Attorney General of the State of Guanajuato and the Human Rights Ombudsman, as well as the 17 municipalities involved in the Gender Alert and specialists from civil society.

The State of Guanajuato must prove to the Secretary of the Interior that it has implemented:

• 11 prevention measures
• Four care measures
• One security measure
• Three measures for the administration and enforcement of justice
• One measure for reparation of damages
• One legislative measure

Libia Dennise mentioned the importance of the State Administration having efficient, effective and empathetic reporting mechanisms for women, in addition to having sensitivity, training and awareness to address each case.

“We are working on strong actions and above all, it is necessary for women to know that when they experience violence, they are not alone”, the Governor emphasized.

Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo invited Guanajuatenses to connect next Monday to chat on the Connecting with the People broadcast, where direct contact is generated to follow up on the requests sent through social networks.
