The Government of Guanajuato, through JuventudEsGTO, turned the representation of Guanajuato to the young people and teachers who will represent the State in the international WorldSkills Lyon 2024 competition, to be held in France.

Last year, more than 3,500 students from CONALEP, CECyTE Guanajuato and bivalent high schools participated in the training program, where they received training in areas such as mechanical design, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, cybersecurity and robotics.

“You come to a different challenge, where you are going to compete and you are going to work against people from other countries, who bring the flag of their country well displayed, and in the same way you have to carry the flag of Mexico and that of Guanajuato very high, knowing that you are people who have the same abilities as any other people, from anywhere in the world,” said Araceli Reyes, general director of JuventudEsGTO.

The members of the Guanajuatense delegation are:

  • Luis Daniel Meza Landeros, Mario Ivan Sanchez Arroyo and Erika Elizabeth Grimaldo Padilla from CONALEP Leon I; Antonio Javier Rojas Carreon and Emmanuel Reynoso Villanueva from CONALEP Celaya; Rodrigo Haziel Campos Valdes, Leri Yosue Mendez Jimenez and Luis Carlos Flores Luna from CECyTE Comonfort II; Eduardo Miguel Martinez and Jorge Adrian Sanchez Matehuala from CONALEP San Felipe

The young students are winners of the Professional Technical and Skills Development program that was developed in 2023, where they demonstrated their excellence in various disciplines and prepared hard to face the best competitors from more than 80 countries, including the United States, Canada, France, India, China, Japan, Korea and Chile.

“You are going to bring not only that representation of your school, but of your family, your teachers, directors, your colleagues; you are going to be a reference and role model for many young people, so you can feel proud of having reached this point,” said Salomon Ceballos, president of WorldSkills México.

For WorldSkills Lyon 2024, Guanajuato will be represented by 6 young competitors and 4 experts in the disciplines of welding, mechatronics, optoelectronics and mobile robotics.

WorldSkills is the largest international competition in technical skills, where the best young people in the world demonstrate their skill and passion for their craft. The Lyon 2024 edition promises to be an exciting event, bringing together thousands of participants and visitors from all over the world.

The Government of Guanajuato reaffirms its commitment to promoting the talent of youth and providing them with the necessary tools to stand out worldwide.
