Sophia Huett Lopez, Executive Secretary of the State Public Security System representing Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo was at the ceremony for the destruction of confiscated weapons in the military complex of Sarabia.
Guanajuato, highlighted the Secretary, is the first national place in the case of confiscated weapons, according to data registered by INEGI, the result of the three government levels, Municipal, State and Federal; it was informed that only in the Guanajuato Seguro Operation, from January to June, 983 weapons, 17 thousand 716 cartridges of various calibers and 982 chargers were seized, as a result of this institutional effort.
Guanajuato will continue with this joint work to secure weapons, and as part of that culture of legality it also continues with the actions of exchanging weapons and destroying war toys.
During the event, also chaired by DEM Brigadier General Enrique García Jaramillo, Commander of the 16 /a. Military Zone, Authorities destroyed:
- 386 short weapons
- 122 long weapons
- 655 magazines
14,223 cartridges of various calibers “All the destroyed items were secured in the recent three months, as a result of the special strategy, between the different Federal and State institutions that intervene in the construction of peace in Guanajuato, and as a sign of that permanent work that is maintained in Guanajuato to build a more prosperous and secure Guanajuato”, said the General.
