The 77th Anniversary of the Martyrs of January 2nd is commemorated

On the Commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of the Martyrs of January 2, the Secretary of Government, Libya Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, urged citizens to continue with unity to defend democracy.
“Today I want to invite you so that the memory of this commemoration makes us renew the spirit of work for Guanajuato, because there are still many Alhondigas, there are still many causes that we citizens have”, said the Secretary of Government.
“We have to continue working together, that this memory reminds us that we must be united in what makes us great,” noted Libia Hernandez.
The struggles, said the Secretary of Government, are permanent, and they continue to call us to unite as citizens, to stay together, to fight for what we love the most.
“This is the land, this is the country where our grandparents and parents were born, where we were born and where our daughters and sons are growing up,” said Hernandez.
The Secretary of Government, pointed out that the women and men who gave their lives defending their democratic convictions are an example that we must follow as Leoneses.
“Guanajuato is a state that has inherited a country where we can talk about liberties, liberties that are in constant conquest, that is why we must continue on our feet and united, work together to have a democratic Mexico and Guanajuato, respectful of human rights, that works for the common good”, noted the Secretary of Government.
She emphasized that this commemoration invites us to remember our history as a Municipality and a State that fights for its democratic ideals, which should be known by our new generations.
“We want this historical legacy not to be forgotten, it is useless if we don’t pass it on by word of mouth, from generation to generation, so that our children are not unaware of this historical struggle that occurred in our city”, said Libia Hernandez.
“That they know their history, that they feel proud, that they feel the vibration of being Guanajuatenses, of being Leoneses,” noted Hernandez.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez; the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Ma. Rosa Medina Rodriguez; on behalf of the State Congress, the Local Deputy, Laura Cristina Marquez Alcala, the Chronicler of the City of Leon, Luis Alegre Vega, and representatives of the National Sinarquista Union and the Leonese Civic Union.
