The Association of Industrial Supplying Companies of Mexico –APIMEX- and the State Institute of Training of Guanajuato –IECA-, signed an agreement of collaboration to promote the professionalization of the staff of the companies affiliated to the Association.
One of the most important goals of APIMEX is the development of the supplying companies, and one way to make it real is through training, certifications, conferences, courses and workshops, among other activities, so that its associates grow and are capable of competing and placing their products all over the world.
During the signing of the agreement, Fernando Padilla Padilla, the President of APIMEX, said that “it is important for companies to keep improving continuously, and education and training are essential elements to achieve this goal.The shoe industry has been affected by a serious crisis of work-force, after many of its traditional workers prefer to go to other industries or work in the informal market”.
Padilla said that according to data of the National Poll on Jobs and Employment –ENOE-, by the second quarter of this year in Mexico, 56% of jobs are in the informal market, in Guanajuato it is the 57% and in Leon it is 47%.
However, the same data shows that today the sector that is growing more in jobs from February 2020 to July 31 2022 is the shoe-leather sector with 13.3%, the second sector is the automotive, that is why, to accelerate the recovery of these posts in the industry it is important to have the qualified work-force and start training this work-force in new competencies to have more trained people to hold these specific posts.
This is the reason why APIMEX joins IECA, headed by Juan Carlos Lopez Rodriguez, because it has programs that provide different tools, from the basics, like training for fork-lift operators, up to welders, shipping and receiving, and other more specific.
This is how the more than 200 associated companies can ask for any type of training at a better price and if necessary, training programs will be designed for the specific needs of each company, this is one of the main advantages of the agreement.
“We are convinced that with the help of IECA, we will be able to increase and improve the human talent of our associates, through the promotion of competencies that increase the knowledge and improve the abilities of staff”, said Padilla Padilla.
