Young Guanajuatenses compete in robotics

Students of Guanajuato compete in the final of the 2nd Educational Robotics Tournament organized by SEG

Primary and secondary students of Guanajuato participated in the 2nd Educational Robotics, Health and Sports Tournament, an event organized by the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato.

The tournament works to create a space to promote scientific vocation where students put their knowledge and skills in STEM areas into practice through the development of projects using robotics kits.

The final champions stage -State- was held in the facilities of the Tecnologico Nacional de Mexico Celaya campus where, in addition to the participation of the teams, there was an exhibition of robotics projects prepared by students of this higher level education institution to publicize some of the projects that are implemented in the Tecnologico.

The educational robotics tournament was divided into 3 categories:

• Health-oriented projects, primary level
• Health-oriented projects, secondary level
• Sports with robots, secondary level

As a result the teams that won the first 3 places are:

• In the Health-oriented Projects Category, primary level:
  The state champion was won by the Ardu-LC team of the Lazaro Cardenas primary school, from Victoria, Guanajuato
• The 2nd place was won by the Los Exploradores team of the Miguel Hidalgo school, from Tierra Blanca, Guanajuato
• The 3rd place was won by the Wall Beimax team from the Jose Ma. Luis Mora primary school in the municipality of Doctor Mora

In the Health-oriented Projects Category, secondary level:

• 1st place was won by the Otis team from the Otilio E. Montano secondary school, of Celaya
• 2^nd place was won by the Gral. 3 Secondary School team from Jesus Reyes Heroles High School, of Leon 
• 3rd place was won by the Thunders team from the high school, Otilio E. Montano, of Celaya

In the Category Sports with robots at the primary level:

• 1st place was won by the Bumblebee team of the Hilario Medina general secondary school, of León 
• 2nd place was won by the Titanes 38 team from the 38 technical secondary school of Salamanca
• 3rd place was won by Robotec 52 of the Technical High School number 52, of Guanajuato

The educational robotics project was implemented in 3 stages:

• Preselectives: Each Regional Delegation carried out strategies to identify the best teams in their region
• Selectives: 3 venues were implemented in Guanajuato where the teams that won their pre-selective pass participated to compete against teams of other regions
• Champions: In this stage participated the 3 best teams of each primary level selection and the 4 best teams of each secondary level selection

879 basic education students from 21 municipalities of Guanajuato participated in the competition. 

SEG works to promote the academic and comprehensive development of basic education students and lay the foundations for the mental capacity demanded by Guanajuatenses and the companies established in the State.
