The World Rally Championship (WRC) returns to the State of Guanajuato in 2023, as announced by Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, after two years of absence from this automobile event in the Entity.
“The Rally returns to its home, which is Guanajuato, the most important competition in the world, the WRC returns this 2023 and I want to thank the organizers for their trust. Rally Mexico and our State already have a very solid relationship, very consolidated. Guanajuato offers the Rally an unparalleled infrastructure of roads that add excitement and appeal to the route of this competition”, said the Governor.
Rally México was canceled in 2021 and 2022 due to the health emergency caused by the Covid 19 pandemic.
Guanajuato is ready to receive pilots, participating teams and visitors, endorsing itself as the venue for world-class events, commented the Governor of the State.
“The fact that we have a large venue here at Polifórum to receive the teams, the mechanics, the vehicles and to have the saw fifteen or twenty minutes away, that makes it unmatched. In 2023 we will be starting with everything, already with different conditions and with a vaccinated population by applying more than 9 million vaccines in Guanajuato”, explained the State President.
- The last time the Rally was held in Guanajuato was from March 12 to 15, 2020, an occasion in which the State was before the eyes of the world, since the event was broadcast on television in more than 160 countries and was seen by 1.4 billion people.
The Rally Guanajuato runs along the dirt roads that surround León, Silao and Guanajuato, the host cities and unlike other competitions, the rally in Guanajuato has different scenarios and the public can choose which ones to attend, most of them with free access.
