The Gto Health System began the year with the goal of reaching more than 5 million medical consultations.
Dr. Daniel Diaz Martinez, Secretary of Health, explained that in 2023, more than 27,000 health workers are fully available to offer quality care to the population of the 46 municipalities in Guanajuato.
According to the records of official platforms, a total of 3.7 million detections of different diseases such as diabetes and hypertension are provided by the Gto Health System.
The Emergency System also attends some 800,000 emergencies between hospitals
In 2022, close to 53,000 births were attended in more than 20 general hospitals and a Network of Maternal Hospitals distributed in strategic cities for the timely care of the mother-child pair.
Dr. Daniel Diaz recognized the efforts of all health personnel who, even with the attention to issues related to the Covid 19 pandemic, which has not yet officially ended, managed to attend in 12 months last year a total of 150 thousand hospital discharges, 116 thousand surgeries and 9.4 million laboratory studies.
They are global statistics for one year, however, Diaz Martinez pointed out the importance of the population knowing that on a typical day the Health staff must work on:
- 20,000 consultations
- 14,000 detections
- 148 births
- 2,200 emergencies
- 435 hospital discharges
- 319 surgeries
- 25 thousand laboratory studies
The Secretary said that Guanajuato has the best emergency care in the country with:
- 87 ambulances
- One medic-copter
- More than 300 experts in the transfer of patients in critical condition
- The SUEG serves more than 37,000 annual transfers of seriously ill patients
- Element of SUEG have participated in rescues in national disasters such as hurricanes and earthquakes
The SUEG is the best in Mexico, and has a training center in the capital Guanajuato, where in-flight maneuver drills, amphibious rescues or in troubled waters, fires and explosions, among other disaster situations, are practiced.
