The State Secretary of Tourism launched 8 promotion campaigns

In the period of January-December 2021 Guanajuato registered the visit of 18 million 700 thousand tourists and more than 3,600 million tourists at hotels, 45% and 53% more respectively compared to 2020.
Better numbers
The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato –SECTUR-, through the Tourist Observatory –OTEG- registered statistics of the main variables of visitors, tourists, spending and hotel occupancy in 2021, and its comparison to 2020.
In the 12 months of 2021, Celaya, Guanajuato City, Irapuato, Leon, Salamanca, San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo and Silao registered more occupancy in hotels.
Good spenders
The spending registered in Guanajuato by these visitors was for $35,841 million pesos, 2% more than in 2020.
Guanajuato has been recovering its tourism activity as a result of the joint effort of State and Local Authorities and the private sector.
Campaigns of promotion
In 2021 as a strategy of economic reactivation to benefit tourist destinations and the whole industry, the Secretary of Tourism launched 8 tourist campaigns in all of Mexico:
- “Si, Quiero Guanajuato”
- “Y tu, ¿tu que vas a hacer?”
- “Este Verano, Guanajuato ¡mas cerca de lo que crees!”
- “Guanajuato, Tierra de Vinos”
- “Fiestas Patrias”
- “Guanajuato, Vive Grandes Historias”
- “Vendimias 2021”
- “Vacaciones decembrinas”
United effort
In these campaigns all were involved, Municipalities, entrepreneurs and all the value chain so that together, all promoted the segments:
- Culture, Romance, Adventure, Gastronomy, Wellness, MICE and Enology and Distilled and other promotions available in Guanajuato
Guanajuato is ready
The campaigns made clear that Guanajuato is a destination that is ready and abides to health protection protocols and actions of security amid the Covid 19 crisis.
