The only international Wine Tourism Event in Mexico started: “VINUM Guanajuato”, an event that promotes exquisite content linked to “Wine Tourism & Meetings” causing extraordinary actions in the world of wine in the wine industry and the tourism value chain.
In San Miguel de Allende, at the Toyan Winery, Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, inaugurated the sixth edition of this discussion that has the objective of providing innovative and profitable ideas for the wine tourism business that contribute to the growth and development of tourist experiences and achieve the strengthening of Mexico’s wine regions.
VINUM is “the work of an entire six-year period. This conversation, which began at the start of this administration, continues. The Government of Guanajuato and SECTUR are very grateful because thanks to this synergy with private initiative, through producers and different sectors, we have a good result of wine tourism in the Guanajuato”, noted the Secretary.
Ana Maria Arias Aguirre, General Director of Vinotelia and organizer of the event, said that in this edition, they kept working with the dynamics of previous years, providing participants with lessons from national and international experts and workshops where different wine tourism business tools were tested.
“VINUM has innovated and has shown us an area of potential for vineyards and wine. It is enriching to listen to experts about how we can land new projects in Guanajuato. At SECTUR, through the work carried out and a Potential Diagnosis in the 46 municipalities, we have understood where the possible developments are and thus take advantage of what we have in the destination to carry it out,” said Alvarez Brunel.
The program included three “Team Building” experiences, as well as a business meditation for leaders in the sector linked to wine tourism.
All of these topics contribute positively to wine tourism that has been a great attraction for tourists to Guanajuato. “In a competitive system we have been able to land efforts in the 46 municipalities with the development of tourism products, some linked to this sector,” said the Secretary of Tourism.
An example is the “Independence Valley Wine Route Guanajuato, Mexico” which has integrated more than 150 tourism service providers (Vineyards, Golf Courses, Experiences, Gastronomy, Lodging, Wellness, Venues for events, local producers and must-sees) and has allowed us to offer visitors more tourist attractions and have more overnight stays in Guanajuato”, said Alvarez Brunel.
