The Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato is the first of its kind to be accepted in the Association
UVEG is now also a member of the -CUPIA- the Council of Public Universities and Related Institutions

The Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato –UVEG- has positioned itself as a referent in Mexico as it has become the first intitution of its kind that is now a member of the National Association of Universities and Superior Education Institutions –ANUIES-.
Well recognized
With its acceptance as a member, UVEG also becomes member of the Regional Council Center-Occident of the ANUIES and it will be part of the Council of Public Universities and Related Institutions –CUPIA-.
With only 14 years working UVEG has greatly grown in number of students, one reason is its flexibility and quality of its programs offered in virtual mode.
Thousands of students
Today UVEG has:
- 34 thousand students in superior level
- 186 thousand active users in all its different education platforms.
People who use the programs of UVEG are not only from Guanajuato and Mexico
- UVEG is in 77 countries
UVEG offers:
- High school, the education program before University
- 11 majors and engineering
- 6 masters
- One doctorate
Its education programs are 100 per cent online and are recognized by the Interinstitutional Commitees for Evaluation of Superior Education AC –CIEES-.
A new era
Guadalupe Valenzuela Rios, its dean, said that this achievment marks a new era for other intitutions to go through the process and become members and adopt virtual education.
An outstanding organism
It is important to say that ANUIES is the organism that has more superior education institutions in Mexico. With more than 70 years working, the Association is an active participant with education Authorities in the creation of national plans and programs of superior education, and it promotes the creation of specialized organisms to improve the quality of education.
Today 203 superior education institutions both public and private are members of ANUIES.
