The Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato (UVEG) held a moving recognition event for 1,047 Community Telebachillerato teachers from 46 municipalities in the State, as well as 790 academic advisors from 175 municipalities across the country, and 153 tutors from 57 municipalities.

The ceremony, held in the city of Guanajuato, brought together State authorities and members of the education community to highlight the fundamental role these professionals play in the academic and personal development of thousands of students.

The Secretary of Honesty and Public Service, Arcelia Gonzalez, expressed her deep gratitude: “Thank you, truly, for transforming technologic keyboards into education opportunities. You are the essence, the soul of this institution. We firmly believe that teaching is a mission, a vocation, not just a profession. The future of Guanajuato lies not only in the infrastructure, but in you, in those who teach.”

UVEG Rector, Ricardo Narvaez Ramirez acknowledged the vital impact teachers have on the students’ lives: “The problems of each of your students… you have saved lives. You have rescued young people… from addictions, from loneliness. Today more than ever, teachers need emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence. Believe it: you are superheroes, heroes of this great Country and this State.”

The voice of the teaching profession was also heard through Perla Olinda Nunez Guerra, representative of the Irapuato–La Caja Community Telebachillerato, who proudly shared: “Being a teacher isn’t limited to sharing knowledge. Being a teacher is building bridges where there were once walls, turning on lights where there was uncertainty. Educating goes far beyond the classroom. It’s accompanying, listening, and guiding. It’s working with the mind, yes, but also with the soul.”

Using virtual training, education advisor Altobelly Hernandez called for collective inspiration: “You are a clear example of success, perseverance, empathy, and professionalism. We join forces to improve the quality of life of our students. I conclude with a quote from Oscar Wilde: ‘We all have our feet in the mud, but some of us look up to the stars.’ Let us foster motivation; recognize effort; and inspire others to be among those who look up to the stars.”

Recognized for their creativity, the use of new technologies and their innovative spirit but always putting their heart first, this is how the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato, Luis Ignacio Sanchez Gomez, addressed a few words full of pride: “Thanks to you, UVEG has become a leading model for online education in Mexico and Latin America; you are the ones who make this University great and have consolidated it with your commitment and dedication”.

“I want to tell you that our Governor, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, is very proud of all of you,” said Sanchez Gomez.
