Guanajuato makes history with the UNAM, for the benefit of the young Guanajuatenses

Guanajuato makes history with UNAM, on this day Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, inaugurated the National School of Higher Studies -ENES- of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Leon Unit, extension San Miguel de Allende.
“Our Government’s commitment is to continue providing education and this school is an example of that public policy. In our Government we are going to continue betting on education”, said Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
The investment was 42 million 657 thousand pesos with tripartite participation by the State Government, the Municipal Government and the UNAM, each allocated 14.2 million pesos.
These works, in their first stage, will make it possible to advance the State Government’s commitment to increase from 25.57 percent to 30 percent higher education students in academic programs related to the digital transformation process; and increase to 10% higher education students with certification in professional skills.
The facilities inaugurated will make it possible to expand the educational offer with the majors of Physiotherapy, Dentistry and Optometry. In addition, English, French, German and Spanish language courses (for foreigners) will be offered.
Continuing education activities will be taught at these facilities like:
- Agrogenomic Sciences, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Optometry, Agricultural Administration, Territorial Development, Industrial Economics, Tourism and Sustainable Development, Intercultural Development and Management, Business and Innovation, and Patenting
Governor of Guanajuato thanked Dr. Enrique Graue for his support as Rector General of UNAM, so that these facilities become a reality and promised to support the start of the second stage of this educational establishment with the state budget.
“Once again our thanks to UNAM, and to Doctor Enrique Graue for their friendship and all their support so that this school is a reality today,” added the Governor.
The extension of the UNAM in San Miguel de Allende, has been in operation since 2013, and strengthens the educational functions of the ENES, Leon Unit, through the provision of professional training, courses, diplomas, workshops and activities of UNAM.
