Toyota will produce 100 thousand Tacoma units in its Apaseo El Grande plant when it is working at maximum capacity

Toyota arrives in Guanajuato with an investment of more than 947 million dollars, said the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo as he headed the opening ceremony of the new plant of the Japanese company.
This plant located in Apaseo El Grande, is the first plant in the world designed and built with its new Global Production architecture; here 100 thousand units of Tacoma will be assembled when it reaches its maximum capacity, said the Governor.
“Today is a great day for Toyota and Guanajuato; for Mexico and Japan. The opening of this modern auto assembly plant is a clear message of trust in the present and in the future. A message that we have a vision towards the future and we are main actors in the great world markets”, said the Governor.
They claim their spot
That is why Toyota couldn’t choose a better location for this new plant; “because here in Guanajuato they have their home. They come to be part and to claim their spot, ¡In the most dynamic auto makers cluster in Latin America!”, noted Rodriguez Vallejo.
“In Guanajuato we are proud of having a company like Toyota. A global company that is well known for its human values and for its actions of innovation, passion for quality, respect for people, care for the environment and its great social responsibility”, said the Governor.
Rodriguez Vallejo recognized the leadership and passion for work of the Japanese, as well as their discipline and their capacity for innovation. Japan is a great nation and it is the main investor in Guanajuato, revealed the Governor.
Strong countries
“Both countries have gone through very difficult moments: Japan a tsunami and Mexico an earthquake; however, we have stood back, opening this modern plant, because we are strong countries and with great character”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“Today Toyota and Guanajuato, are more united than ever”, said the Governor.
Dynamic economy
More than 2 thousand jobs will be generated in the plant in the next 9 years, which represents more well being for the Guanajuatense families, as well as more opportunities for youngsters and a more dynamic economy, said Rodriguez.
The Governor noted that with the arrival of Toyota also arrive new supplying companies and some others will expand. This means a historical push for the development of more than 15 municipalities in the area and in all the State.
An effort of all
“Making this plant real required the joint effort and will of the 3 levels of Government. That is why today we also mention the will of the Federal Government and specially the Secretary of Economy, Graciela Colin and those who were in that post before her”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Governor also mentioned the Mayor of Apaseo El Grande, Moises Guerrero, as well as the authorities of previous municipal administrations. The Governor also mentiones in a special way the hard work of the former Governors to make real this plant of Toyota and he said it will be a big success.
Made by Mexican hands
The President of Toyota Manufacturing Guanajuato, Juan Francisco Garcia Lopez, noted that in this new plant they will manufacture a product of the greatest quality, made by Mexican hands, “We are here to grow together with the community, we are already part of Guanajuato”.
In this plant the company develops a manufacturing model that is simple, sustainable, careful with the environment and highly competitive, to produce vehicles with the highest quality and environmental standards. The plant also has a water treatment plant to recycle 80% of the water used in the assemby plant and 20 per cent is used in irrigation.
