With great success the 7th Gastronomic Walnut and Quince Fair was held in the Magic Town and Best Tourist Village Jalpa de Canovas
With the first reported numbers the event presents better results than the 2024 Edition, according to organizers

The seventh edition of the Gastronomic Walnut and Quince Fair surpassed all expectations, as it gathered 14,500 visitors during the event on Sunday from 10am until 10pm.
The Fair attracted visitors from different municipalities of Guanajuato, as well as from Jalisco, Michoacan, Queretaro, Zacatecas, Mexico City and abroad, particularly from the United States.
The gastronomic offer was one of the greatest attractions with products like:
Typical desserts made of walnut and quince, besides traditional dishes like walnut mole, enchiladas with dried steak from Purisima del Rincon, different products made of quince, and arts and crafts, workshops and the famous warmth of the people of Jalpa de Canovas, factors that made of the event an unforgettable experience.
The success of the fair not only reflects in the number of visitors, but also in the participation of the exhibitors and merchants.
In 2025 the number of merchants grew by 25% compared to 2024; and it also reached a 65% of participation of local merchants, this represented an important economic result for the community.
Restaurants, hotels and tourist service providers of the Magic Town and Best Tourist Village reported full capacity during the event.
The Fair was a sustainable event, free of one-time-use-only plastics, promoting reusable and bio-degradable materials. These actions not only reduced the environmental impact, but also reinforced the commitment of the Municipality with a responsible and inclusive tourism, aligned with the State sustainable policies.
The Mayor of Purisima del Rincon, Roberto Garcia Urbano, noted the great promotion given to tourism in the last years, and said that Purisimenses are the main benefited.
The Mayor thanked all the Purisimenses for their trust and for adding and preparing to make of this touristic project a strong event, leading Purisima del Rincon to consolidate as a destination of quality events.
Also the Mayor thanked the State Secretary of Tourism and Identity for its support in organizing these activities. David Ayala Saucedo, General Director of Tourism Development of the Secretary of Tourism, congratulated the Municipality for the success, and noted the quality of the event and the coordinated work that strengthens the Magic Towns of Guanajuato.
The Director of Tourism of Purisima del Rincon, Roberto Camargo, thanked the support of the City’s Government and noted that the main goal is that tourism is consolidated as a source of income and wellbeing for Purisimense families.
Also, Camargo recognized, the commitment of the service providers as a key piece for the success of each edition.
When asked, the visitors agreed and recognized the beauty of the Magic Town, the quality of the gastronomy, the great variety of shows and activities and the organization of the event, expressing their satisfaction for having lived a unique experience in Jalpa de Canovas.
The Fair of the Walnut and Quince reaffirm again the cultural, gastronomic and sustainable identity of Jalpa de Canovas, Magic Town and Best Tourism Village which consolidates it as an excellence tourism destination in Guanajuato.
