The Governor of Guanajuato Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, was in the traditional Cavalcade of Christ the King in honor of the Santa Cruz del Cerro del Culiacan.
“It is an honor to participate in this traditional Cavalcade, sharing this experience with all of you is very gratifying”, said the Governor.
Rodriguez Vallejo pointed out that the people of Jaral del Progreso have the support of the State Government.
The Governor was with the Mayor, Jose Gonzalez Ojeda; the State Government Secretary, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo; the Secretary of Social and Human Development, J. Jesus Oviedo Herrera; and the Secretary of Agrofood and Rural Development, Paulo Banuelos Rosales; as well as the local representative , Alfonso Borja Pimentel; and the federal representative, Karen Michel Gonzalez Marquez.
Some 700 riders participated in this parade; they came from different municipalities such as:
- Leon, Irapuato, Salamanca, Valle de Santiago, Juventino Rosas, Villagran, San Miguel Allende, Comonfort, Celaya, los Apaseos, Acambaro, Moroleon, Uriangato, Yuriria, Tarimoro, Salvatierra, Cortazar and Jaral del Progreso
The “Cabalgata de Cristo Rey” is held in honor of the Santa Cruz de Culiacan that was founded on October 12, 1985.
This Cavalcade began in the community of Victoria de Cortazar at seven in the morning and reached the top of the Cerro del Culiacan after 10:30 am.
