The University of Guanajuato already has a process research laboratory called Higher University Technician in Tanning career

To contribute to the updating and development of the tanning ecosystem in Guanajuato, the Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, inaugurated a process research laboratory for the major of Higher University Technician in Tanning.
With the joint investment of the State Government, Leon and the Chamber of the Tanning Industry -CICUR-, the equipment of this laboratory was achieved, which will serve for the learning and training of future professionals in the leather industry.
“These spaces are committed to innovation, development and being able to work hand in hand with society, industry and academia; count on the support of the government, because we have to help make this work,” said the Governor.
One of the factors for the growth of Guanajuato, said Rodriguez Vallejo, is the intervention of the citizen participation councils with projects and actions, since society flows with these projects of common benefit for the new generations of professionals.
The tannery process laboratory is in the facilities of the Science and Engineering Division of the University of Guanajuato, Leon Campus, for internships for the 25 students of the program.
The laboratory has modern and functional equipment, consisting of:
- An oven with 8 removable rods, 2 dry cabins, 2 laboratory tables, a plush table, a roller machine, 8 stainless steel drums and a cabinet with small drums
- 2.7 million pesos were invested for the infrastructure and equipment of the laboratory
The General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Claudia Susana Gomez Lopez, said that the agreements are reached thinking about social needs, where the answer is sought with the connection and participation of everyone.
The President of CICUR, Vicente Lahud Martinez, said that human capital is essential to meet goals and achieve global competitiveness in the Sector.
Lahud added that with academic training, industry and tanning in Leon and Mexico, it will be strengthened to create professionals that represent a workforce trained with tools to combat the challenges of today’s world.
“We have a workforce that competes with the best in the world in our sector, but we must continually work to provide them with tools and train them, and therefore, the inauguration of this major and this laboratory is very important for the Industry,” said the Governor.
