SDES invites to Tasting Fridays in Chedraui

The State Government promotes viticulture for the economic development and diversification of Guanajuato

Guanajuato is recognized nationally and internationally for its oenological tradition and quality wines

In coordination with the Chedraui supermarket chain, 10 tastings have been held in 5 branches in the last 2 years.

In the Administration of Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, oenology and viticulture have been strongly promoted due to their important contribution to the economy of Guanajuato and the jobs it generates.

The head of the Secretariat of Sustainable Economic Development -SDES-, Ramon Alfaro Gomez explained that the VID GTO project is aimed to the development and consolidation of this sector with strategies such as:

• Training, support for companies, organization of events, acceleration of wineries, harvests, development of tourism products, etc

Alfaro Gomez noted that the tastings boost the viticulture and oenology industry by educating consumers, promoting Guanajuato brands and promoting the economic diversification of Guanajuato by betting on the State’s natural vocations.

The tastings have been held in Chedraui branches of:

• Celaya, Leon Campestre, Guanajuato capital, Leon Torres Landa and Queretaro Juriquilla

The tastings have the participation of the wineries:

• Cuna de Tierra, Guaname, Cava Ortiz, Vinedo El Lobo, Vinedo San Miguel and Vinedo Gran Father

Participants learn about different grape varieties, wine regions and winemaking techniques, in which pairings with GTO Brand products are privileged; this allows you to better appreciate the wines and make more informed purchasing decisions.

Thanks to its supply chain, the promotion of the commercialization of local wines creates commercial opportunities and collaboration between different sectors, generating employment and energizing the local economy.

These actions represent a comprehensive strategy to diversify the regional economy, generate employment and promote sustainable development. The State Government, through the SDES, works to ensure that this activity continues to be consolidated in Guanajuato.
