The head of INGUDIS Jose Grimaldo Colmenero participated today in the capital of Mexico in the presentation of a proposal:
- National Plan for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Mexico 2023-2033
The document seeks to strengthen the equality of this sector with other social segments.
It is a document elaborated and led by the Mexico Coalition for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities -COAMEX-, it seeks to help the Federal Government and State Governments, to comply with the recommendations made to the Mexican state by the Disability Committee of the United Nations, as a product of its evaluation of the country carried out in March 2022.
“It intends to generate equality that we still see lacking and the idea is that we are heard and that, although the federal government is about to change, for whoever is there, it is an opportunity to take time to read this document, the result of people’s concerns with disabilities, organized civil society and government agencies in the matter”, said Jose Grimaldo.
The Guanajuatense Official was with the Secretary of COAMEX Guillermo Hernandez, at a press conference, after both delivered the document to the Office of the Citizen Attention Office of the Federal Government in the nation’s capital.
