The Executive Secretary of the State Public Security System and the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato informed that 880 scholarships are available for members of municipal corporations and their families

The Executive Secretary of the State Public Security System and the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato -UVEG- announced more support for active municipal police officers and their families can complete or continue their high school, university, engineering or master’s studies.
From today until next December, the application period opens for the granting of 880 scholarships, 730 free for daughters and sons and 150 grants for active members of municipal corporations, a budget of 3 million 158 thousand pesos will be applied.
Last February, the first 181 educational grants were announced.
Elia Barbara Lugo Delgado, General Director of Linkage and Monitoring of the Executive Secretary of the State Public Security System, representing the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo and the head of SESESP, Sophia Huett Lopez, she noted that since the beginning of the current administration, the professionalization of municipal police officers has been addressed as a priority issue.
By 2024, 1.2 billion pesos from the State Fund for the Strengthening of Public Security have been invested in equipment and professionalization services for municipal police forces.
In terms of security, said Barbara Lugo, all profiles are welcome, since from their different visions they can contribute to the change that is demanded in security today; the corporations must be much better prepared because the challenges ahead are more difficult.
Ricardo Narvaez Martinez, rector of the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato, – UVEG- in addition to announcing the new scholarship support for daughters, sons and active police officers, announced the start of the Course on Citizen Security, which is aimed at security specialists and the general population, which allows them to learn, through 8 modules and 80 hours, topics such as Security and Human Rights, the legitimate use of force, the Accusatory Criminal System and the legal framework of the Public Security Law, among other.
The Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato – UVEG – is the only virtual university that handles specialized topics in security in Mexico, and that also offers the options of its programs and study plans for police officers.
