Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, gave the starting signal for Operation Guadalupe-Reyes with the aim of safeguarding the physical integrity and patrimony of the people, as well as providing a preventive service to visitors who travel through the highways of Guanajuato.
Up to 21 thousand 985 federal, state and municipal elements participate in this operation, as well as aid groups and institutional services, said the Governor.
Rodriguez Vallejo added that it has the support of:

The participating units are:
- Patrols, first response units, cranes, motorcycles, ambulances, motor pumps, scale trucks, tankers, rescue boats, and helicopters
“It is a pleasure to be back home after a working tour that included the United States and South Africa. We had very important work meetings with US investors and we were also at the World Science Forum in South Africa, where we shared what the people of Guanajuato are achieving in terms of Mindfacture like social innovation for sustainable development”, noted the Governor.
The Guadalupe–Reyes Operation is a great solidarity effort made by society and the Government to offer help to those who need it this year end season, said the Governor.
“We know that the month of December is rich in traditions and abundant in festivities and celebrations. Citizens and families congregate in shopping centers and squares.
“People spend time together at workplaces and in homes. Mobility in the municipalities is also increasing and we receive visits from people who come to our State to know the pleaces and to enjoy its great tourist richness,” he said.
Only in this year-end season, the projection of the Ministry of Tourism is the arrival of 1.4 million visitors to Guanajuato, which will generate an economic income of more than 3 billion pesos, noted Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Governor also sais that the International Airport will be working at its full capacity, which is 202 weekly flights to 9 national destinations and 9 international destinations.
“The same is true at bus stations and on all of our highways. And in this scenario, we have to safeguard the physical integrity and possessions of those who live in our State and also of the thousands of visitors”, added Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Governor recognized all the people and participating institutions that will be safeguarding the safety and tranquility of the people of our State and of the visitors.
“I want to tell you that we are very proud of each and all of you. That we value your encouragement and spirit of service, to give your time and effort to safeguard property and people, even sacrificing your time with your families,” he said.
“We are going to work very hard in disseminating messages so that we all participate in prevention, and thus be able to enjoy the Christmas and New Year festivities in peace,” noted Rodriguez Vallejo.
The Secretary of Public Security of the State, Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, said that the implementation of the Guadalupe-Reyes operation which started on December 8th and ends next January 8, 2023 is held in coordination with the security institutions of the three orders of government.
