The State Coordination of Civil Protection, part of the Secretary of Security and Peace, warned about the drop in temperatures expected in Guanajuato this week, due to the second winter storm of the season and cold front number 27.

In Guanajuato, minimum temperatures of -5 to 0 degrees Celsius are forecast, with frost in higher elevations, they also forecast wind gusts of 40 to 60 km/h in Guanajuato, along with isolated showers (0.1 to 5 mm).

According to the General Coordination of the National Meteorological Service, the cold front will extend with stationary characteristics and will cause cold to freezing conditions during the morning and night in States of the northwest, north, northeast and center of Mexico.
These temperatures are expected in 39 of the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato. Meanwhile, temperatures of 0 to -5 degrees are forecast for San Luis de la Paz and San Miguel de Allende.

The State Coordination of Civil Protection urges the population to stay warm inside and outside their homes or workplaces, wear protective clothing such as gloves and a hat, eat fruits and vegetables that provide vitamin C, and cover their nose and mouth.
At home, it is recommended to cover the bottom of doors with pieces of cloth, and the gaps with adhesive tape, as well as avoid lighting firewood or log stoves in enclosed spaces.
