ODATA inaugurated its newest data center, DC QR04, consolidating Guanajuato as a strategic epicenter for digital infrastructure in Mexico and Latin America.
“Today, San Miguel de Allende is becoming the epicenter of this cluster of data centers in Mexico. We’re seeing this municipality becoming the most important cluster in Latin America in the long term, while maintaining its unique personality, authenticity, and charm,” said the Undersecretary of Investment Attraction of the Secretary of Economy, Alejandro Hernandez Fonseca.
The QR04 was designed for a total IT capacity of 24 MW, with the first phase of 12 MW already operational.
ODATA seeks to position itself as the leading interconnected data center platform in Mexico and Latin America, offering advanced infrastructure to support cloud services, artificial intelligence, and digitalization.
The new DC QR04 integrates cutting-edge technology, including the patented Delta Cube system, developed by Aligned Data Centers, which enables efficient and sustainable cooling.
Thanks to the incorporation of the Free Cooling system, the center takes advantage of external environmental conditions to reduce electricity consumption, turning off chiller compressors and using air cooling on colder days.
This significantly reduces energy consumption and improves the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) index, an indicator that measures the efficiency of energy use within a data center.
Information technology businesses in Mexico have registered a 22% growth, strengthening the company’s position to meet the growing demand for advanced solutions in large-scale cloud data storage and recovery.
In addition to its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, this project also represents a boost for Guanajuato as a technology hub, generating 80 highly specialized jobs and contributing to prosperity through the diversification and application of cutting-edge technology.
With this investment, Guanajuato reaffirms its position as an attractive State for technological innovation, generating positive prospects for the well-being and prosperity of its families through the creation of specialized employment and projects that strengthen the national digital infrastructure.
