Michelin Celebrates 5 years in Leon

The company marks the production of its 10 millionth tire. The most modern Michelin plant in the world is in Leon

Governor of Guanajuato9, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, led the 5th anniversary ceremony of Michelin and the production of its 10 millionth tire.

“I feel very proud of the great success story that Michelin has written in Guanajuato in just five years,” said the Governor.

The corner stone of this plant was laid on August 22, 2016. And in 2018, its first phase of production began with the creation of 1,050 direct formal jobs.

The Governor recalled that in September 2021, on a work tour of Europe, he visited the Michelin headquarters in France, where the company announced a new expansion project.

“And today we are here with you celebrating your 5th anniversary and the production of the 10 millionth tire. An achievement for this plant, which fills us with pride and satisfaction because it is an achievement shared by the company with its workers in Guanajuato,” said the Governor.

Rodriguez Vallejo noted that Michelin is a company that is committed to innovation, research and development to face the challenges of the future. “And that is having vision, which we share with Michelin”.

The Governor thanked Michelin for Trusting in the great strengths of Guanajuato. And he endorsed the State Government’s commitment to continue working together. “You have all our support to continue writing from Guanajuato and for the world, this great success story,” said the Governor.

Rodriguez Vallejo congratulated and recognized the great Michelin family, and all its great work team, led by Matthieu Aubron, President & CEO of Michelin Mexico and Central America, and Olivier Fau, Director of the Michelin Leon Plant.
