The twelfth edition of the “Noches Magicas” (Magic Nights) in the Pueblo Magico of Jalpa de Canovas, in Purisima del Rincon, took place as attendees sought to capture the perfect photo opportunity with five hot air balloons.

The balloons remained brightly illuminated starting at 7:30 on Saturday evening, exciting the thousands of spectators gathered at the site.

On this occasion, the presence of international gastronomy, alongside the local and State cuisine, set this edition apart from previous years.

Roberto Garcia Urbano, Mayor of Purisima del Rincon, with his wife, the President of the Municipal DIF Patronage, Enriqueta Martinez Lopez, members of the City Council, including the head of the Tourism Commission, Salvador Cruz Villegas; the children’s and young queens, and senior queen of Jalpa de Canovas, as well as the representative of the Pueblo Magico Committee, first allowed the attendees time to take their souvenir photos before conducting a tour of the night’s attractions.

Jafeth Escobar Lopez, Director of Information and Analysis for the State Secretary of Tourism and Inclusion, speaking on behalf of the Governor and the head of SECTURI (State Secretary of Tourism), said that Purisima del Rincon and its Pueblo Magico are the only locations that have consistently maintained the “Noches Magicas” activity to date.

A gingerbread house, a robot, a duck, and two traditional balloons (one yellow and one checkered) moved with the breeze. While remaining tethered to the ground, they continuously illuminated and warmed the atmosphere.

By 10 p.m. Saturday, 20,000 people from various parts of the region were already in attendance, Roberto Garcia Urbano reported.

The presence of commercial exhibitors from India-Pakistan, Argentina, Venezuela, El Salvador, Algeria, and Egypt could be seen in the central aisle, and on the sides local and State vendors serving as hosts. There were 72 businesses in total, including food, desserts, international cuisine, handicrafts, souvenirs, and more.

From an early hour, attendees danced to cultural groups, the Euterpe band, and even Mi Banda El Mexicano.

Long lines of vehicles and pedestrians formed for the free access to consume gastronomy, handicrafts, and souvenirs, as well as the chance to view Saturn and the Moon through special telescopes.

While a Batman impersonator spread his wings into the night, children enjoyed the games, and Civil Protection along with Firefighters from Purisima del Rincon and Manuel Doblado were distributed to monitor every area. Meanwhile, Public Security and City Transit deployed for guidance, inspection, and support for a safe stay.
