Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo led an intensive working tour of Houston, Texas to promote Guanajuato to investors in the tourism, energy, automotive, and aerospace sectors.

“Today we are building a great team for Guanajuato and we are working very closely with the Consulate. What we hope for with this working visit here in Houston is to build these ties and alliances for the benefit of our State,” said Libia Dennise.

“The intention is to have this rapprochement with our Guanajuato migrant community through this government, which is committed to addressing the people’s needs. We are here to give our migrants certainty and to let them know that in Guanajuato we are working for them,” said the Governor.
Libia Dennise was welcomed by Maria Elena Orantes Lopez, Consul General of Mexico in Houston, who recognized the work of the Guanajuatense Government as an example in attracting investment. “We welcome the person who governs today as women know how, in one of the most important States in our country and one that contributes so much to national development,” said the Mexican diplomat.

Before businesspeople from various economic sectors, the Governor invited them to invest in Guanajuato, a State with economic experience supported by training and education, with economic and social development, coupled with the rule of law that provides certainty to companies that choose to establish themselves in the State.
We believe we can continue strengthening our trade relation with Houston, and what we want today is to generate these trade missions to spur economic development, the Governor said.

Libia explained that Guanajuato is a State with a diversified economy, a strong automotive industry, and a vision to attract industries that allow us to be at the forefront and generate development, employment, and training opportunities for its people.
“The strength of a region lies in its people. We are a State that has strengthened this vision of developing industrial parks, diversifying the economy, and empowering regions. We want to continue along this path and explore new horizons that will allow us to grow our trade relationship with the United States, but particularly with this region of Houston, Texas,”said the Governor of Guanajuato.

Libia Dennise visited the Mexican Consulate General in Houston to meet with members of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce (Houston). The members presented the Governor with a recognition from Adriana Potter, President of the business organization.

“If we work together, we can achieve great things; that’s what we’re doing today in Guanajuato. We want to make this boost we’re giving to economic activities truly inclusive,” said Libia.
Later, the State Governor delivered 47 birth certificates to members of the Guanajuatense migrant community in Houston, and who will now have dual nationality.
