Libia presents Financiera ‘Tu Puedes Guanajuato’

This financial institution works to provide financing and support to the sectors most neglected by traditional financial institutions

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, presented the Financial and Support Institution “You can Guanajuato”, through which, she seeks to reverse financial exclusion and provide financing and support to the sectors most neglected by traditional financial institutions.

“To all micro, small and medium-sized businesses, I say: you are not alone; our commitment is that you have someone to lend you a hand. If a bank does not give you credit, here we do and we are committed to the economic growth of Guanajuato through the people who work the hardest, which are you,” said the Governor as she launched this financial institution.

The objective of the Financiera is to promote financial inclusion in the State of Guanajuato, providing accessible economic and financial support to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises -MSMEs-. It will benefit women entrepreneurs seeking economic independence; young people and entrepreneurs who require starting capital; producers in the primary sector; and people from rural and vulnerable localities.

Before thousands of people from Guanajuato in the main square of Purisima del Rincon, Libia Dennise said, “these loans are designed to be really accessible, here we are not going to ask you to complete complicated or difficult procedures. You don’t have to be account holders, pay insurance, or pay very high interest, because sometimes because of the need we have, we end up in debt with those who abuse the need that families have.”

“Do you need someone to support you, are you hard-working people? The answer here is easy, come to this Government of the People, a Government that owes itself to you and that provides you with the means to go forward,” said the State Governor.

Support includes:

• Affordable financing
• Financial support for productive projects
• Incentives for merchant and taxi associations

Tu Puedes Guanajuato starts with a budget of 400 million pesos, 375 million pesos for financing and 24.5 million pesos for support. “This is a very big step that we are taking to strengthen your projects, to strengthen your ideas, to help you achieve each of your goals,” said the Governor.

There are 9 Financing programs:

• Progress
• Renew Your Taxi
• Your Ideas Are Worth It

Loans are granted ranging:

• From 10 thousand pesos to 3 million pesos
• To be paid from 24 biweekly payments to 60 months
• With interest rates from 6.75% to 15%
• With incentives of 2% and 3% at the end of the loan for on-time payment

The financial institution also makes available to Guanajuato residents in vulnerable conditions the economic support “We Believe in You” for up to 7 thousand pesos (for a single time only) so that entrepreneurs can start their business.

This project is a response from the government to assist micro, small and medium-sized businesses that are not served by the banking sector or are not satisfied with the interest rates.

Tu Puedes Guanajuato works to resolve these barriers with simplified procedures and competitive conditions.

This year, it is planned to benefit:

• 2,705 economic units with financing
• 3,500 people with non-refundable financial support

By the end of the administration, it is expected to reach:

• 16,230 financings
• 21,000 non-refundable supports

The creation of this financial institution reflects the principles of “Fewer windows, more citizenship” and “The new saying is doing”, by simplifying processes and translating commitments into actions.
