The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the opening ceremony of the Leon State Fair 2025, which is held from January 10 to February 5, in commemoration of the 449th anniversary of the founding of Leon.
“We are very happy to enjoy this 2025 Leon State Fair, of which the people of Leon, and all the people of Guanajuato, feel very proud,” said Libia Dennise.
Libia said that the Leon Fair is a wonderful showcase of the rich historical, cultural, gastronomic and artisanal heritage of our State.
“Here is the Guanajuato Pavilion, as well as the Livestock Expo, which is the pride of Guanajuato, one of the most important in Mexico and the most important in our State,” said Libia.
The Governor said that in this Fair, you can appreciate different products like:
- The Mayolica and Pottery of Dolores Hidalgo and Guanajuato Capital, the bread of Acambaro; the strawberries of Irapuato; the footwear, the boots, the bags, the jackets, all the leather products from Leon. Here you can find the mezcal of our mountains; the Tequila of Penjamo and Huanimaro; the wine of our Independence Valley
Libia explained that this year, more than 750 exhibitors participate in the People’s Pavilion in five strategic locations. On the ground floor of the Poliforum, there will be 334 commercial stands from sectors such as crafts, textiles, food and jewelry, offering products from more than 100 local companies.
On the upper floor of the Poliforum there is the Prosperity Pavilion with 76 stands with products that reflect our Identity, Pride and Tradition. In addition, there are 70 commercial stands and 84 sector pavilions, with the participation of the municipalities of Guanajuato and 14 government agencies.
Libia said that the Cheese, Bread, Wine, Spirits and Craft Beer Pavilion is located in the mezzanine of the Poliforum and brings together 60 producers of traditional foods and beverages. The place offers tastings and sales of products such as wine, tequila, mezcal and craft cheese.
Visitors can go to the People’s Pavilion at Explora, located in Parque Explora, with 31 stands selling food, textiles and fashion products, in a space that is close and accessible to the whole family.
You can also visit the Inclusion Pavilion “A new beginning, a new opportunity”, in the Mullion of the Poliforum, with the participation of products from 108 artisans from Social Rehabilitation Centers, who seek to sell their artisanal work through exhibitions.
“This is the best Family Fair in Mexico. It is a celebration that no one can miss, and with a large number of free shows, where we can all have fun. In the Government of the People, the State Fair of Leon has a very special place and it will always continue to be an affordable, popular, inclusive and increasingly better Fair,” said the Governor.
The Governor congratulated the Board of Trustees of the Fair, headed by David Novoa and his entire team; “you have made a great effort to organize this project, and I want to ask you to continue working so that this Fair is positioned as the best in the country”.
“This year we are very pleased to welcome Coahuila as the guest State, which will be sharing its vast and diverse cultural wealth. Many thanks to the state of Coahuila and its Governor Manolo Jimenez Salinas,” said Libia Dennise.
“Let us enjoy this Fair with our families, because what makes our State great are its families, and in this Government of the People we will continue working so that families can live better,” said the Governor.
The Governor of the State of Coahuila, Manolo Jimenez Salinas, thanked the invitation to participate in this edition of the State Fair of Leon; “We invite you and we welcome you with open arms to visit our stand so that you can learn about our tourist attractions and history.”
Libia Dennise toured the facilities of the Leon State Fair, with Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez, and the President of the Board of Trustees of the Fair, David Novoa; they visited the Guanajuato Pavilion and the Livestock Expo.
In this edition of the Leon Fair staff works to attract more visitors than in 2024, when the fair attracted more than 6.4 million visitors and generated an economic impact of more than 3.5 billion pesos.
One of the main new features of the Fair is the Inspira: Ideas that Transform conference series. This program seeks to offer attendees enriching experiences through the stories and knowledge of prominent figures in various fields.
